Florida Municipal Services, Inc. provides municipalities with Building Department Services including Building Official, plan review and building code inspections.  Our mission is to provide building services to municipalities so as to insure that construction projects within the municipality are built to comply with Florida Building Code and Local Statutes.  We provide excellence in services to contractors and home owners and make the permitting and building process as user friendly as possible.

We currently provide Building Department Services for the City of Coleman, the City of Dunnellon, the City of Fanning Springs, the City of Gretna, the Town of Glen Ridge, and the City of Williston in Florida. 

The Florida Building Code 2010 is in effect on March 15, 2012.  All projects permitted on or after that date will have to comply with the new provisions.  Some highlights of the changes are:

• Update to the permit application form adding statement regarding possible requirements for additional permitting with federal/ state/local entities.
• Additional energy requirements regarding HVAC new and replacement  projects.
• Changes to the Owner-Builder Affidavit regarding Asbestos Abatement.

This is not an all-inclusive list.  It is the responsibility of the applicant to be familiar with all aspects of the projects they are undertaking.

The City of Gretna has their own website with the appropriate forms and instructions contained in the website.  Zoning permit forms for the City of Fanning Springs are available by clicking on the link for Fanning Springs and following the instructions for zoning forms.  Zoning permit forms for the City of Williston are available by clicking on the link for Williston and following the instructions for zoning forms.

For all other municipalities, you may request a building code inspection for any municipality, call 352-628-7904, or send an email to bbrown160@tampabay.rr.com.  All inspection requests must be in by 3:00 P.M. the prior business day.  Provide the permit number, project address, type of inspection, along with contact name and telephone number.
